Hanyoung Textile Printing, established in 1959, represents South Korea’s rapid economic rebirth after the Korean War— a symbol of the nation’s resilience and the modern transformation of the traditional screen printing textile industry.
Hanyoung has consistently driven the evolution of the textile industry by introducing South Korea’s first Computerized Color Kitchen system and leading the development of hybrid digital printing machines.

HISTORY
HANYOUNG TIMELINE
1959 : Established Hanyoung Dyeing Industry.
1964. 07 : Opened the Mia-ri factory.
1972. 11 : Acquired a national patent for a dye spray type simultaneous multicolored printing method that gives the appearance of a hole-in-the-hole dye.
1975. 02 : Designated as a specialized textile dyeing company by the Korean Ministry of Trade and Industry.
1975. 11 : Awarded for export growth by the National Industrial Complex Management Office.
1976. 05 : Hosted the ADB International Small and Medium Enterprises Seminar.
1978. 08 : Designated as a specialized dye processing company by the Korean National Ministry of Trade and Industry.
1979. 05 : Designated as a priority support company for indigenous small businesses.
1980. 12 : Awarded the Presidential Commendation by South Korean President Chun Doo-hwan on Export Day for significant contributions to South Korea’s exponential economic growth and post-war recovery.
1983. 03 : Awarded the National Industrial Service Medal on Commerce Day.
1984. 03 : Awarded the Bronze Tower Order of Industrial Service Merit by the South Korean President Kim Young-Sam, the third highest national business-sector recognition.
1985. 02 : Recognized by the National Small Business Administration.
1986. 11 : Awarded Presidential Commendation of $5 Million Export by the South Korean President Chun Doo-hwan for outstanding national exports.
1987. 07 : Completed and started operations at the Banwol Factory.
1987. 12 : Achieved a factory quality control rating of level 2 by the National Industrial Development Agency.
1988. 09 : Launched the first Computerized Computer Kitchen System in Korea (automated dyeing preparation device for screen printing).

1990. 04 : Completed an expansion of the Banwol Factory.
1990. 07 : Acquired a national invention patent for a Fiber-processing Method using High-Frequency.
1991. 11 : Awarded the Presidential Commendation of $10 Million Export by the South Korean President Roh Tae-Woo on Trade Day for significant national exports.
1996. 01 : Hanyoung Textile Printing Co., Ltd. is incorporated.
2006. 11 : Established the Hanyoung Research Institute.
2007. 02 : Recognized as an INNO-BIZ company for driving innovation in the textile industry.
2010. 11 : Awarded the Grand Ethical Management Award by the Korean Society for Ethical Management.
2010. 12 : Awarded the National Minister of Knowledge Economy Award for excellence in the textile industry.
2011. 02 : Established the Hanyoung Scholarship Foundation with a donation of 10 billion KRW.

FOUNDATION
2011 : The Hanyoung Scholarship Foundation, established with a donation of $10 million USD, is committed to fostering talent and driving innovation in the textile and design industries.
The foundation collaborates annually with five universities to support design development, awards scholarships to students in related fields, and organizes a yearly global textile design competition.
